In a world of constant noise, uncertainty, and distraction, finding a moment of stillness can feel nearly impossible.
<MASS> is an ongoing event series that creates space to pause, reflect, and reconnect through sound. Created by Minneapolis artist and musician Zak Sally (bassist for Low, 1993–2005), the series comes to The Museum of Russian Art for its second gathering, where musicians will provide a continuous, live soundtrack, inviting participants to sit quietly together, listen, and simply be present.
No phones. No algorithms. No conversation (or as little as possible).
It’s not quite a concert, a sound bath, a meditation retreat, or an experimental music performance. Or perhaps it’s a little of all those things.
Presented in partnership with The Museum of Russian Art, this event is free and open to the public. Chairs will be available for all participants. The only requirement is a willingness to turn off your phone, settle in, and experience the music alongside others.
Show up. Turn off. Tune in.
Not simply as an observer, but as a participant. Just for a couple of hours.
