February 24, 2025 marks three years since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine—a violation of international law that continues to bring devastating loss and destruction. The Museum of Russian Art (TMORA) stands in unwavering solidarity with the people of Ukraine and condemns the ongoing aggression. We also recognize and honor those in Russia who bravely oppose this war, risking their safety to speak out against violence and advocate for peace.

As a cultural institution, TMORA remains committed to fostering understanding and dialogue through art, believing in the power of cultural exchange to unite people beyond borders and conflicts. In October 2023, TMORA was featured in the New York Times article As War Rages On, a Museum of Russian Art Stands Up for Ukraine, highlighting our steadfast dedication to supporting Ukraine and amplifying voices for peace.

The Museum upholds an independent voice and the freedom of expression to carry out its mission unconstrained by influence from foreign governments, political actors and/or corporate or individual interests. As we mark this solemn anniversary, we reaffirm our commitment to truth, history, and the vital role of art in bearing witness and inspiring change.

For those looking to support Ukraine, TMORA has compiled a list of organizations providing humanitarian aid and other ways to help.
