Strategic Alliances: Belarus and European Politics (at Wilder Foundation)

Wednesday, April 10 from 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

FREE

Presented by Global Minnesota in partnership with East View Information Services, this free event is being held in-person at the Wilder Foundation and is open to everyone. Please register in advance (registration link below).

Promotional sponsors are the Department of Russian Studies at Macalester, East-West Connections, the Minnesota International NGO Network, The Museum of Russian Art, and the United Nations Association of Minnesota.

Ambassador Andrei Sannikov might be most well-known for his vocal criticism of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, but the exiled politician is also an accomplished author, human rights advocate, and negotiator. As a former Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus, what insights can he provide on the strategic alliance between Belarus and Europe?

Join Global Minnesota and East View Information Services for a special presentation from Ambassador Sannikov, where he’ll explore the complicated and tight-knit relationship between President Lukashenko and Russian President Vladimir Putin, and what their relationship means for the greater question of security in Eastern Europe and the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Wednesday, April 10 | 5:30 – 7:00 PM CDT | Free, in-person event. Please register in advance.
