The Museum of Russian Art (TMORA) stands in solidarity with the people of Ukraine and condemns the invasion and ongoing aggression against Ukraine, which violates international law and undermines the principles of peace and freedom. We also stand with those in Russia who courageously oppose this war, recognizing the bravery of those who speak out against violence and advocate for peace. As a cultural institution, TMORA is committed to fostering understanding and dialogue through art, believing in the power of cultural exchange to bring people together, beyond borders and conflicts.
In October 2023, The Museum of Russian Art was featured in a New York Times article titled ‘As War Rages On, a Museum of Russian Art Stands Up for Ukraine’, highlighting the museum’s ongoing commitment to supporting Ukraine amidst the ongoing conflict.
The Museum upholds an independent voice and the freedom of expression to carry out its mission unconstrained by influence from foreign governments, political actors and/or corporate or individual interests.
