TMORA After-Hours Tour Series: Fairytales of the Romantic Age
Led by TMORA docent Katherine Goertz
The after-hours tour “Fairytales of the Romantic Age” will include stories by Russian literary geniuses Alexander Pushkin and Nikolai Gogol. Pushkin’s Ruslan and Ludmila and Gogol’s St. John’s Eve were created during the Romantic age of Russian literature, in the first half of the 19th century. Pushkin’s is an epic poem about rescuing a princess, and Gogol’s is a short story about scary things that can happen on the Russian summer solstice holiday. Gogol’s story was the inspiration for Mussorgsky’s Night on Bald Mountain.
Light refreshments will be served.
