The Museum of Russian Art invites you to enjoy and support this incredible festival, now in its second year. In partnership with Razom, an organization responding to the invasion of Ukraine, Slavic Experience is raising funds to support the relief efforts already underway.

Celebrate the universal human values we all share, for two magical days in August, the way they’ve been celebrated in Eastern and Central Europe for centuries untold. Food. Music. Family. Art. Community. Freedom. Friendship. Love. All are welcome.

People of Slavic heritage include those whose families once emigrated from countries like Poland, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Russia, Slovakia, Belarus, Slovenia, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, and Serbia, as well as other Eastern European nations. The purpose and mission of Slavic Experience is to create a welcoming space for people of Slavic heritage to commemorate, celebrate, and share the richness and diversity of Eastern European traditions and customs with the greater Twin Cities community in a fun, free, and family-friendly experience.

FAMILY. Whether you hail from Eastern Europe, or your grandparents did, or not, everyone is family at Slavic Experience. Bring your grandma, your girlfriends, your partner and kids, or your favorite furry friend and enjoy the endless activities for kids of all ages. Play games and have treats with the little ones, reminisce and have a beer with your buds, or enjoy the arts and crafts in the shade.

FOOD. Enjoy the finest in authentic Slavic delicacies from countries like Poland, Ukraine, Czech Republic and more. From mouth watering sausages, to cabbage rolls, to stuffed dumplings, and decadent stuffed donuts and deserts from all over Eastern Europe, you’ll find what you’re looking for (and a few things you weren’t).

MUSIC. Time travel for free at Slavic Experience. Tour the wonders of Eastern Europe without leaving Minneapolis. Experience the beauty of traditional Slavic music, dance, and art over two enlightening days. Polka bands, Ukrainian dance performances, historical crafting demonstrations, and educational and storytelling presentations are just the beginning.
