The events in Belarus have become front-page news. Challenges to the 26-year rule of President Lukashenko present questions for the people of Belarus, Russia, the European Union, and the United States. The only certainty is a period of continued uncertainty.
Join the discussion on October 5 with an outstanding international panel. The discussion will focus on the analysis of existing realities and potential futures, exploring how change can come to the citizens of Belarus, whether Lukashenko will be replaced by a democratic government, the actions of Russia, and whether it is possible for the citizens of Belarus to shape their future without outside forces.
Panel:
Moderator and Panelist Dr. David Schultz – Nationally known Professor of Political Science at Hamline University and the University of Minnesota Law School
Dr. Palina Prysmakova – A founder of the Belarussian Institute of America, and Professor of Public Administration at Florida Atlantic University.
Dr. Yuri Belenky – Chair of the Christian Conservative Party of Belarus. One of the major leaders of the opposition to President Lukashenko.
Dr. Vyacheslav (Slava) Sutyrin – Leading Expert at Russian International Affairs Council, in Moscow, Russia
