Since Russian President Vladimir Putin launched his “special operation” in Ukraine on February 24, over 11 million Ukrainians have fled the country – at least 5 million to Poland – and over 7 million have been internally displaced (more than a quarter of the country’s population). Here in Minnesota, the humanitarian response organization Alight is organizing relief efforts, and some individuals are finding ways to help at the border.
Join this program to hear from Angel Eifert, Global Connector Lead for Alight (formerly the American Refugee Committee) about Alight’s efforts to support displaced Ukrainians and opportunities for Minnesotans to participate. Bernadine Joselyn of East-West Connections will share personal impressions from her recent trip to the Ukrainian-Polish border where she met with war evacuees at critical moments on their journey, helping them process, re-orient, connect, and navigate their new reality
