Join us for an exclusive after-hours tour with the Chief Curator & Head of Exhibitions and Collections of The Museum of Russian Art. Dr. Maria Zavialova will present a number of works from the museum’s permanent collection – some of which have never been displayed publicly – while discussing their background and path to TMORA’s collection. This is sure to be a memorable evening!
Russian tea and cookies will be served.

Born in St. Petersburg, Russia, Maria Zavialova received her doctorate from the University of Minnesota. As TMORA’s Chief Curator and Head of Exhibitions & Collections, she has curated more than fifty exhibitions in the museum. She also works on independent curatorial projects and writes for art catalogues. She is an award-winning translator of African American women writing into Russian, a co-director of the folk performance group Nitka, and a board member of the American Siberian Educational Foundation.
