The Museum of Russian Art welcomes back Vladimir Yarish; a scholar, artisan and teacher from Veliky Novgorod, Russia.

Vladimir will share ways in which he harvests birch bark and roots from the forests in northwestern Russia, and introduce you to his craft. Through illustrated slides Vladimir will talk about the history of birch bark weaving in ancient Novgorod, and contemporary techniques used to work with the bark.
Meet the artist in the Izba Gift Shop after the talk. Enjoy refreshments while you shop a special selection of Vladimir’s basket weavings.
