Workshop Fee*: $35 for TMORA members; $45 for non-members
Participants will take part in a modern version of the traditional Russian sewing posidelka (bee), mixing embroidery and socializing at this creative workshop. Novice and experienced needle-workers alike will learn something new and produce a piece of embroidery for an ornament or sachet under the supervision of artists from the Textile Center.
The evening will begin with a brief introduction to Russian textile traditions, followed by an embroidery workshop, light refreshments, and door prizes. Participants may also visit all three current TMORA exhibitions with museum docents on hand to answer questions. Previous embroidery experience is not required for this night of textiles, tea and fun! Event held in conjunction with the exhibition A Homespun Life: Textiles of Old Russia.
* Fee includes embroidery materials, workshop instruction, refreshments and tickets for door prizes.
Please note: The Mayflower Church/TMORA parking lot will not be available for this event; however, ample street parking is available along Stevens Avenue and 1st Avenue.
