Dr. Kettering presents an overview of TMORA’s current Russian Imperial Porcelain exhibition, focusing on porcelain’s role in the grand spectacles of 18th century Russian court life. Dr. Karen Kettering is Vice President for Russian Works of Art and Icons at Sotheby’s, New York.  From 1998 to 2007, she served as a Curator of Russian and Eastern European Art at the Hillwood Museum & Gardens in Washington D.C.  Her publications cover many aspects of Russian decorative arts, including articles on Russian and Soviet porcelain.  Dr. Kettering earned her Ph.D. in Art History from Northwestern University in 1998, and has lectured extensively in the United States and abroad on a wide range of topics related to Russian art.
