Children’s Russian Weaving Workshop
Location: Mayflower Congregational Church (across Diamond Lake Road from TMORA)
Workshop Fee: $5 for TMORA members; $10 for non-members
Co-sponsored by Mayflower Congregational Church and the Textile Center of Minnesota, this event will feature demonstrations of various tabletop looms and techniques, an introduction to Russian textiles, followed by a workshop during which children will produce their own piece of weaving in the Russian style. Participants will receive one same-day free adult museum admission (a $7 value) and a chance to win a variety of door prizes, including several from TMORA’s Izba museum store. Event held in conjunction with the exhibition A Homespun Life: Textiles of Old Russia.
