About the Music:
Heart-on-your-sleeve romanticism and sheer melodic beauty are hallmarks of Dvořák’s Terzetto for Two Violins and Viola, while Mendelssohn injects his String Quintet with grand and sweeping gestures and high energy. At the center of this program is a piece by Vivian Fung, a brilliant young Canadian composer whose Violin Concerto made a splash in the SPCO’s Neighborhood Series.
