TMORA wins 2nd place in AAM’s annual Museum Publications Design Competition, 2010
TMORA wins second place in American Association of Museum’s annual Museum Publications Design Competition! Congratulations to our designer, Carole Grinde, of Grinde Design. The winning entries include TMORA’s invitations to the exhibition openings of Revealing the Silk Road, and Matryoshka: The Russian Nesting Doll.

…Each stamp in the exhibition is a microcosm of symbolism, evoking strong cultural messages with effi cient graphic means. The designs from the 1930s feature stylized depiction of airplanes and zeppelins; geometric framing devices and air-brushed panels are prominent throughout this period. ! ere are numerous other themes—aesthetic and cultural—evident in TMORA’s exhibition, making the collection a rare communiqué from the Soviet and Czarist past.
