MINNEAPOLIS (Oct. 30, 2007) – The Museum of Russian Art (TMORA) today announces the election of William R. McLaughlin as the new Chair of its Board of Trustees. McLaughlin, president and chief executive officer of Select Comfort Corporation in Minneapolis, will oversee TMORA’s national board of 10 executive trustees.
“Bill is a strong advocate for the community and a longtime supporter of our museum,” said Judi Dutcher, TMORA director and president. “His business acumen and experience growing small businesses into international franchises brings a valuable and fresh perspective to our board. We look forward to working with him as TMORA evolves into one of the world’s premier Russian art institutions.”
McLaughlin has served as Select Comfort’s president and CEO since 2000. Prior to joining Select Comfort, he served as president of Frito Lay Europe, Middle East and Africa, and was responsible for integrating and accelerating growth in a portfolio of more than $2 billion in sales in 17 countries. He began his career with The Pillsbury Company.
McLaughlin serves as an advisory board director for Orion Safety Products, Minnesota Public Radio, Carleton College and Tuck Business School. He received an MBA from Dartmouth’s Amos Tuck School in 1981 and a baccalaureate degree from Dartmouth College.
